The Master & Margarita

Written by Mikhail Bulgakov
Directed by Michael Sommers and Luverne Seifert
October 5 – 14, 2006
Presented outdoors in the West Bank Arts Quarter

Creative masterminds Luverne Seifert and Michael Sommers bring to the stage Mikhail Bulgakov’s anti-Stalinst masterpiece in an outdoor spectacle developed in collaboration with over thirty theatre, dance, art and music students.  The year is 1930, and Satan and his band of supernatural tricksters have arrived to wreak havoc on atheistic Moscow.  Soon, a subversive young writer and his secret lover, Margarita, are intertwined in a world of witchcraft, eternal love and sacrifice that will take them past the boundaries of reality.
