University Dance Theatre presents
The University of Minnesota Dance Program presents Dance Revolutions, the annual University Dance Theatre concert featuring the work of nationally and internationally renowned artists Max Pollak, Sardono W. Kusumo, José Limón, and Shapiro and Smith Dance Company. These artists bring a diverse range of aesthetics that embrace differences and challenge conventions. Students, faculty, and celebrated Cowles visiting artists come together to create this world class dance concert that furthers the mission of the Department of Theatre Arts and Dance, which is dedicated to the practice of performance arts as powerful modes in which to communicate about social issues and human emotions. While the program provides professional technical training, it places equal importance on intellectual inquiry, performance and development of creative process, producing future dance artists who will be a part of our community and beyond, engaged in how their involvement in art can affect their world.
Performance Time: 2 hours, including a 10-minute intermission. The second half of the performance will begin in the lobby during intermission. The dancers will lead the audience back into the theater.
Concessions from the Birchwood Café will be available for purchase.
